Engaging, Lived-Experience Training & Talks on Neurodivergence
I don’t just deliver training — I bring it to life.
I am a neurodivergent therapist with combined-type ADHD and an advocate for neurodivergent rights and mental health. I provide neurodiversity training for therapists, counsellors, and mental health professionals, as well as working as a neurodiversity conference speaker across Ireland and internationally.
My sessions are interactive, engaging, and built for real-world application. Whether I’m delivering ADHD training for therapists or speaking at a healthcare conference, I ensure every session is dynamic, thought-provoking, and deeply relevant.
By blending clinical expertise with lived experience, I make complex ideas accessible and show professionals what truly works for ADHD and autistic clients — not just in theory, but in practice.
CPD-Accredited Training: Understanding Neurodivergence in Therapy
This one-day CPD-accredited neurodiversity training course (6 CPD points, IACP recognised) is designed for therapists, counsellors, psychologists, and mental health professionals who want to move beyond outdated models and develop practical, affirming approaches to working with neurodivergent clients.
What Makes This Training Different?
Engaging & Interactive – Real stories, case studies, and discussions that challenge assumptions.
Built for Application – Tools and strategies that can be used immediately in therapy.
Neurodivergent-Led – Grounded in both my clinical background and lived experience as a therapist with ADHD.
What This Course Covers:
The realities of neurodivergent experiences, beyond clinical stereotypes.
How traditional therapy misunderstands ADHD and autism.
Recognising masking, burnout, and emotional dysregulation in neurodivergent clients.
Practical, neurodivergent-friendly strategies for therapy.
Avoiding common mistakes that lead to misdiagnosis or ineffective therapy.
This course has been delivered to Pieta House and other professional organisations, helping therapists rethink their approach and improve client outcomes.

Online Training Course – Therapy Unmasked
For those who prefer flexible, self-paced options, I also offer online ADHD and neurodiversity training.
Therapy Unmasked: A Practitioner’s Guide to Working with Neurodivergent Clients is a self-paced, neurodiversity-affirming course available via Help My Child.
This course includes:
8 in-depth modules on sensory regulation, masking, RSD, executive dysfunction, and more.
Real-world clinical examples and tools for everyday practice.
Strategies for adaptive, affirming therapy across modalities.
I co-created this course with educator and neurodiversity advocate Jouré Rustemeyer. Together, we combine lived experience, clinical practice, and education to bridge the gap between theory and application.
Public Speaking & Conferences
Alongside training, I work as a neurodiversity conference speaker and regularly deliver keynotes, panel talks, and workshops.
I deliver talks the same way I deliver therapy — with energy, authenticity, and a deep understanding of ADHD and neurodivergence.
My Talks Are:
Dynamic & Thought-Provoking – No dry clinical lectures. I challenge audiences to think differently.
Grounded in Real Experience – A blend of professional expertise and my lived experience as a neurodivergent therapist.
Practical & Relatable – Real strategies, not just theory. Audiences leave with tools they can use.
Past Speaking Engagements Include:
Resilience Healthcare Conference – Spoke to 170 professionals about neurodivergence in healthcare.
Radio Interviews – Regularly invited to discuss ADHD, autism, and mental health.
Guest Lectures & Workshops – Delivered insights on ADHD, autism, and inclusive mental health practice.
If you’re looking for a neurodiversity speaker who engages audiences, challenges outdated perspectives, and leaves a lasting impact, I’d love to collaborate.
Testimonials
“This was the most practical and engaging neurodiversity training I’ve attended. Robert’s lived experience and deep knowledge made a huge difference.”
“This course was a game-changer. I had worked with neurodivergent clients before, but I now realise how much I misunderstood their experiences. Robert’s insight, both as a therapist and someone with ADHD, made the content relatable, practical, and eye-opening. Every therapist should take this training.”
“All neurodiversity training should be like this — real-world applications, no outdated theories, and delivered in a way that kept us engaged the entire time.”
