Welcome
Therapy is personal — and finding the right therapist can make all the difference. I’m Robert Rackley MSc MIACP, a neurodivergent psychotherapist based in Limerick, specialising in ADHD, autism, and other forms of neurodivergence.
Whether you’re here for therapy, training, or public speaking, my goal is the same: to create a safe, affirming space where you can explore challenges, develop strategies, and feel understood — by someone who truly “gets it.”
My ADHD Story
I wasn’t diagnosed with ADHD until adulthood. Like many of my clients, I grew up sensing I was “different” but not having the words for it. My ADHD shaped everything — my focus, my energy, my relationships — but it was often misinterpreted as carelessness, laziness, or simply “too much.”
Getting my diagnosis gave me clarity, but also grief for the years I went without support. That personal journey is at the heart of my work: I know what it feels like to sit in therapy and not be fully understood, and I’m determined to make sure my clients never have to experience that.
Living with ADHD means I don’t just understand the theory — I live the reality. The time blindness, the bursts of energy followed by burnout, the difficulty switching off an active mind, the intensity of emotions, the constant effort to “hold it together” in a world not designed for us. These experiences shape how I listen, how I adapt therapy, and how I support others in navigating their own ADHD journeys.
Professional Background
I’m an accredited psychotherapist with over a decade of experience in mental health. My work is grounded in evidence-based practice, particularly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), adapted to meet the needs of neurodivergent clients.
Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including:
Pieta House – supporting individuals through crisis intervention and therapy
Croom Family Resource Centre – delivering community-based counselling and mental health support
Autism Supporting Diversity Ireland – providing therapy and advocacy for autistic individuals and their families
Current Practice
In private practice, I specialise in:
Therapy for ADHD and autistic adults — in-person in Limerick or online
CBT adapted for neurodivergence — flexible, practical, and neurodiversity-affirming
Psychoeducation for adolescents — building self-understanding and coping tools early
Training & public speaking — helping professionals and organisations better support neurodivergent people
Advocacy & Public Education
Outside of the therapy room, I’m passionate about:
Raising awareness of ADHD — especially in adults, where it is still often misunderstood or missed
Public education — delivering talks, training, and conference presentations on ADHD, autism, and neurodiversity
Challenging stigma — making therapy and mental health spaces safer, more accessible, and more affirming for neurodivergent clients
