ADHD Support – Pre & Post Diagnosis

Understanding ADHD Before and After Diagnosis

Whether you’re questioning if you might have ADHD, waiting for an assessment, or adjusting to a recent diagnosis, this stage can feel overwhelming. It’s common to experience a mix of emotions — relief, grief, validation, confusion, or even self-doubt.

My ADHD-focused sessions provide space to process these feelings, while also giving you practical tools to make everyday life more manageable.

What ADHD-Focused Therapy Can Help With

In our sessions, we may explore:

  • How ADHD traits show up uniquely in your life

  • The emotional side of diagnosis and self-discovery

  • Practical strategies for focus, organisation, and emotional regulation

  • Coping with daily overwhelm and executive dysfunction

  • Addressing co-occurring issues like anxiety, depression, or burnout

  • Understanding masking and Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD)

If You’re Pre-Diagnosis

You don’t need a diagnosis to start working on your wellbeing.
In therapy, we can:

  • Explore your traits, challenges, and strengths in a safe, non-judgemental space

  • Help you prepare for an ADHD assessment if you decide to pursue one

  • Work on coping strategies that support you regardless of labels

If You’re Post-Diagnosis

Receiving a diagnosis is often just the beginning. Together, we can:

  • Make sense of what ADHD means for you personally

  • Adapt your routines, environment, and supports to meet your needs

  • Develop tools for emotional regulation, focus, and resilience

  • Embrace your neurodivergent identity rather than trying to “fix” it

  • Shift towards becoming more authentically you — more neurodivergent, not less

My Approach

I use a neurodiversity-affirming, CBT-informed approach, combined with lived experience as an ADHD adult. Sessions are collaborative and paced according to your needs, with space to experiment with tools and strategies that fit your life.
