Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Adults
CBT for ADHD, autism, and mental health challenges. Practical, adapted tools for managing anxiety, depression, and everyday life.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a practical, solution-focused approach that helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and actions. For neurodivergent clients, I adapt CBT so it works for your thinking style and lived reality — because standard CBT worksheets and rigid step-by-step models don’t always fit.
In my adapted CBT approach, we might:
Break tasks and goals into smaller, manageable steps
Use visual aids or real-life examples instead of abstract concepts
Allow flexibility in session structure, so we can follow what’s most relevant that day
Incorporate sensory regulation strategies alongside thought-based tools
CBT can be helpful for:
Anxiety and overthinking
Low mood and depression
Procrastination and motivation challenges
Managing overwhelm and emotional intensity
Building problem-solving skills that work for your brain
If you’ve tried CBT before and found it unhelpful, that doesn’t mean it can’t work — it may just need to be adapted to fit you.
